The Global Terrorism Database (GTD) is an open-source database including information on terrorist events around the world from 1970 through 2008. It is compiled by The National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START) - A Center of Excellence of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security based at the University of Maryland and is updated annually. You can search the database using keywords or browse by categories including date, perpetrator, region and weapon.
